ASD: Private Assessment for Children & Adolescents in Glasgow

Diverse Diagnostics is a specialist mental health clinic offering a private autism diagnosis in Glasgow for kids and teenagers.

For a child or teen, living with undiagnosed autism can have a significant impact on their development, schooling, social skills, and relationships. A diagnostic assessment for ASD can provide clarity and provide the child or young person and their family with the right information, so they are better equipped to manage the disorder. Our diagnostic services for ASD include online and in-person elements, and we offer 1-on-1 therapy sessions and guidance after the diagnosis.

If you believe your child may be affected by autism, schedule a free 15-minute consultation to address your questions about ASD and our assessments before booking a private ASD assessment for your child with Diverse Diagnostics.

Please Note: We also offer private ASD assessments for children in Edinburgh

Diverse Diagnostics is currently offering a combination assessment for both ADHD and ASD.

What is ASD?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that can cause significant social, communication, and behavioural difficulties in children and adolescents.

Symptoms & Challenges

ASD symptoms generally begin to show before the age of 3, so for a private ASD diagnosis, it is necessary to look at a child’s behaviour and both their early and current development.

The symptoms vary widely from one child to the next but can include challenges with social, emotional, and communication skills (such as trouble with speech), as well as repetitive or restrictive behaviours.

Depending on the severity of the patient’s symptoms, they may need the support of carers when they are teenagers and even into adulthood. However, by gaining a better understanding of ASD, the patient and their family can find helpful tools and strategies that can make living with ASD easier.

Our diagnostic service, followed by sessions with our specialist ASD therapist, can assist with this. Book a private autism assessment in Scotland with Diverse Diagnostics.

Importance of an Autism Diagnosis

An earlier ASD diagnosis can help children and families get the appropriate support in the early stage of life, leading to better outcomes and quality of life for young people and families further down the line. The proper diagnosis, ASD assessment and GP/Consultant Report will help the child and the family to take action and improve the quality of life of the young person.

When ASD is not diagnosed, other risks can be seen, such as low education attainment, mood disorders, conduct behaviours, low self-esteem, and increased risk of substance abuse, among other risks.

A proactive approach to your child’s mental health can put them on the right track for their higher education and for when they are adults.

Our Glasgow Autism Assessment & Referral Report

If you are looking for an ASD assessment in Scotland for a child between the ages of 6 and 18 years, we can help you — without a waiting list.

At Diverse Diagnostics, we use a gold standard diagnostic tool as part of the core assessment: the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2).

Compliant with Nice Guidelines

It is essential to highlight that we are compliant with the NICE Guidelines for ASD diagnosis in those under 19 years old and, therefore, we do not rely on any autism-specific diagnostic tool alone to make the diagnosis.
